2009 (Junior): Earned first team all-Lone Star Conference for South Division in first season with the Wildcats for 9-4 NCAA playoff team. Played in all 13 games with 32 tackles (13 solo), 3.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage and 3 quarterback sacks. Also recorded 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery and 4 QB hurries.
2007-08 (Laney JC): As a sophomore at Laney, Jones played in eight games as the Eagles finished 7-3 in the Golden Gate Conference in the Northern California Football Association. Jones was second on the team with 38 tackles (16 solo), including 5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage for 13 yards in losses. He also had 4 sacks for 21 yards in losses and 1 pass breakup.

High school: Jones was a first team all-league selection as a sophomore, junior and senior. Was named the league’s Lineman of the Year as a senior.
