2008 (Kilgore College): First team all-Southwest Junior College Football Conference selection as a wide receiver in 2008. As a punt-return specialist, Johnson averaged 22.3 yards per return.
High school: While at Mexia HS, Johnson ran for more than 2,000 yards as a senior (2006) and scored seven rushing touchdowns in one game. He was a first team all-district running back as a junior in 2005 and a senior in 2006. He was the district MVP as a senior. Johnson was an honorable mention all-state selection as a senior in 2006. Johnson was also a Super CenTex second team selection as a senior in 2006. As a basketball player, he was the district MVP as a senior and a first team Super CenTex selection. Played for head coach J.J. Eckert at Kilgore. Played for head coach Larry Adair at Mexia High School.
