Named one of four defensive captains for the 2017 season.
2016 (Junior): Started in all 11 games for the Wildcats at defensive end. Had 47 tackles, 22 unassisted tackles, and eight tackles for loss. Had a career-high 10 tackles, five of them being solo on Sept. 10, against Northern Colorado. Recorded one sack at McNeese on Oct. 29, and forced one fumble during the same game. Douglas blocked two kicks, one each at McNeese and against Incarnate Word.
2015 (Sophomore): Started one game (season-opener at Fresno State), but appeared in all 11 games for the Wildcats as a backup defensive end, the same position he’s slated for in 2016. Finished the season with 35 tackles, including 21 solo stops. Had five solo tackles against Fresno State and had a career-high six tackles in ACU’s Oct. 3 game at Central Arkansas.
2014 (Freshman): Douglass moved from linebacker to defensive end and ended up playing in six games as a true freshman. Douglass finished with four tackles (two solo) and one quarterback hurry in his debut season. He had one tackle each against Ave Maria, Central Arkansas, Northwestern State and Stephen F. Austin.
High school: Douglass was a first team Class 4A all-state linebacker as a senior in 2013. He led the Eagles to a 12-1 record and area championship in 2013. He finished the season with 147 total tackles (77 solo), including 17 tackles for loss. He forced four fumbles and recorded four sacks on his way to earning first team all-District 3-4A honors. He was also the district’s Defensive MVP. As a junior in 2012, Douglass was a second team Associated Press and Texas High School Coaches’ Association all-state selection. He was the district Defensive MVP as a junior and senior. Also lettered in basketball, earning first team all-Super Team honors by the
Amarillo Globe-News in 2013-14. Played at Canyon for head coach Blake Bryant.
