2010 (Sophomore): Limited action at fullback as soph squadman with 1 catch for 9 yards in road win over Incarnate Word. Also deep snapper on special teams.

2009 (Freshman): Squadman deep snapper on Wildcat special teams.

2008 (Nebraska): Pillen spent the season as a redshirt for the Cornhuskers in his freshman walk-on season.

High school: Pillen played fullback, defensive end, linebacker and deep snapper in high school. As a defender, Pillen recorded 115 tackles and forced 15 fumbles. He also carried the ball 23 times for 145 yards.
