2009 (Junior): Standout linebacker who played in all 13 games for 9-4 Wildcat team that repeated its NCAA playoff trip. Recorded 13 tackles (11 solo), 2.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage and 2.5 quarterback sacks. Also had fumble recovery in 47-35 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville. Top games included 3 tackles each in season-opening win over nationally-ranked NW Missouri State and 20-14 triumph over Texas A&M-Commerce in Cotton Bowl.
2008 (Sophomore): Made the move from defensive end in the 4-3 alignment to outside linebacker in 3-4 scheme, and he did it flawlessly. Finished the season with 55 tackles (36 solo), 4.5 tackles for loss (minus 22 yards) and 2.5 sacks (minus 15 yards). He also had 1 forced fumble, 1 quarterback hurry and 3 pass breakups. He had a season high 9 tackles in the Wildcats’ Sept. 27 win over Eastern New Mexico.
2007 (Freshmen): Lewis started all 13 games for the Wildcats, finishing with 41 tackles (24 solo), 10.5 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks (second on the team). Made a strong impression in his first collegiate game, finishing with 8 tackles (2 tackles for loss) in the Wildcats’ season-opening loss at Central Oklahoma. Had 5 tackles against both Eastern New Mexico (2 solo) on Sept. 29 and Midwestern State (5 solo) on Nov. 10.
2006 (Freshman): Redshirt.
High school: Three-year letterman at Kimball High where he helped the Knights to a combined 27-10 record over 3 seasons. As a senior he recorded 87 tackles, 8 sacks, 6 tackles for loss, 5 forced fumbles and 5 fumble recoveries. He was a team captain and first team all-district.
