2013 (Junior): Played in all 11 games for the Wildcats, starting 10 games at safety. Stewart finished second on the team in tackles with 72, including 48 solo tackles. He also had one sack, one interception, one pass breakup, two passes defended and two forced fumbles. He set a career-high with 14 tackles in ACU’s narrow 34-29 loss at New Mexico State on Oct. 26, coming up with seven solo stops. His lone interception of the season came on Oct. 12 against Houston Baptist, and he returned the ball 31 yards.
2012 (Sophomore): Played in all 11 games for the Wildcats, starting all 11 at safety. Stewart finished ninth on the team in tackles with 42, including 20 solo stops. He also had three pass breakups, four passes defended, recovered two fumbles and picked off one pass. That interception came in ACU’s 24-17 win over Texas A&M-Commerce, and he returned it 20 yards. He tied his career high with six tackles in ACU’s loss at West Texas a&M on Oct. 13.
2011 (Freshman): Played in all 11 games as a true freshman, finishing with 19 tackles (10 solo), one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Had six tackles (three solo) in ACU’s Oct. 29 win over Texas A&M-Commerce and had six more (five solo) in the Wildcats’ Nov. 12 win against Incarnate Word in the regular-season finale. He also had a forced fumble and recovery against the Cardinals.
High school: Three-year letterman in football at safety. As senior in 2010 had 104 tackles, 1 forced fumble and 2 fumble recoveries to earn second team all-District 26-5A honors.
Personal: Born 26 April 1993. 2011 graduate of Churchill High School in San Antonio, Texas. Father Warren played football at Southwest Texas State.
