Shiery returns for her senior season after becoming the first Wildcat player in school history to earn first team all-America honors.
2008 (Junior):
After transferring from two previous schools, Shiery may have found her home at Abilene Christian after earning numerous accolades as a junior. At the conference level she was a first team all-LSC South Division selection and was named the south division’s Newcomer of the Year. She was named first-team all-region by the NFCA and then earned the highest honor for any Wildcat player in school history when she was named a first-team all-American as a catcher. She led the team with a .440 batting average, she cored 48 runs, had 20 doubles, tied for the team lead with 12 homers and led with 44 RBI. She drew 53 walks (fifth in NCAA Division II), and more than half of those were intentional walks. She ranked 11th in the nation in on-base percentage (.576), and she also had a .760 slugging percentage and a .983 fielding percentage. She threw out 15 baserunners and was named to the LSC and NCAA DII Region all-tournament teams. Posted 21 games with multi-hits and had 14 games with at least two RBI.
2007 (College of the Siskiyous (Calif.):
Played one year at catcher. Batted .462 (had an astounding .897 slugging percentage) with 12 home runs, 20 doubles and 69 RBI as she was a first-team all-state selection in 2007.
2006 (University of Utah):
Played in the outfield for Utah in 2006. Was a key member of a Utes team that finished 40-21 and lost to Cat Osterman and the University of Texas in the Austin Region final, falling just short of advancing to the Woman’s College World Series in Oklahoma City. Shiery hit .289 with 12 home runs and 51 RBI to earn first-team all-Mountain West Conference honors.
