Perez Collects UAC Special Teams Player of the Week

Abilene Christian kicker Brandon Perez was named the United Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in a 41-39 win at Idaho last Saturday.
Perez was perfect with 2/2 on field goals and 5/5 on extra point attempts for 11 total points.
The Crandall, Texas native started the Wildcats' stretch of 20 unanswered points in the 4th quarter with 31-yard field goal. After Santana Miller forced a fumble on Idaho's next possession, Perez converted with a 51-yard kick, setting a new NCAA Division I career-long. Perez made a 54-yarder in 2024 at NCAA Division II East Central (Okla.).
Those two field goals proved vital as ACU held on for the two-point victory over the Vandals.
This is the second time a Wildcat has won the conference's weekly special teams award. Running back Alex Broome earned the honor for his 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown at Texas Tech.
