Buisson Tabbed University Credit Union WAC Men’s Co-Golfer of the Week

ARLINGTON, Texas - Abilene Christian men's golf's Thomas Buisson was named the University Credit Union WAC Men's Co-Golfer of the Week, the Western Athletic Conference announced Thursday. Buisson tied for second place at the Military City Collegiate presented by USAA this week, marking the best placement by a Wildcat since the 2020-21 season.
Buisson closed at an even-par 216 at TPC San Antonio's Canyons Course alongside UT Arlington's Anth Sinha, who he shared WAC Men's Co-Golfer of the Week honors with. Buisson finished one stroke back of the individual champion to power ACU to fourth place at 27-over 891, matching its top placement of the season.
Buisson registered the first top-two performance by a Wildcat since Alex Clouse and Zane Heusel finished first and second, respectively, at The Big Texan at Comanche Trace in Kerrville, Texas on March 22-23, 2021. He was one of just three golfers to finish at or below par in San Antonio.
It's the best outing of the senior's career, topping his tie for 14th place at the Florida Atlantic Invitational in the fall. Buisson tied for fourth in the field with 11 birdies and scored an eagle on hole No. 15 in the second round. He drew for sixth on par-3 and par-4 holes while tying for 10th on par 5s. Buisson shot 1-under 71 in each of the first two rounds.
Buisson, who was tabbed the University Credit Union WAC Men's Co-Golfer of the Month in November 2025, has developed into ACU's most consistent golfer this season. He has placed within the top 25 in six of the team's seven tournaments and was its top performer in five events.
The Wildcats return to the course on Monday and Tuesday for their third tournament in as many weeks. ACU will compete at the Golden Nugget Invitational, hosted by Lamar at The Country Club at Golden Nugget in Lake Charles, La.
