LUBBOCK, Texas - Abilene Christian's
Ryann Honea wrapped up the NCAA Lubbock Regional in a tie for 41st place with a 13-over 229 after three rounds of play. She carded a 1-over 73 in the tournament's final round on Tuesday at The Rawls Course.
No. 81 Honea delivered her lowest-scoring round of the regional behind a trio of birdies on No. 2, No. 5 and No. 9. She shot even par through her first nine holes. Honea tied for 12th in the field with her 2-over effort on par 3 holes and tied for 23rd on par 5s at 1-under. She tied for 18th with 34 pars.
Florida Gulf Coast's Lousiane Gauthier finished in fourth place at even-par 216, earning the right to advance to the NCAA Championships as the lowest-scoring individual not on one of the five teams moving on.
Wake Forest captured the team title as the only squad to shoot under par at 2-under 862, led by individual champion Carolina Chacarra's 7-under 209. Texas and Iowa State followed in second and third place, respectively, while Tennessee finished fourth.
Purdue and Texas A&M each tied for fifth place after three rounds to advance to a one-hole playoff, where the Boilermakers shot 2-under to claim the final NCAA Championships bid.
The Lubbock Regional wrapped up a 2024-25 campaign that saw Honea earn Western Athletic Conference Co-Golfer of the Year and All-WAC First Team honors. She logged seven top-10 finishes this season, six of which saw her place within the top four.
Honea was named the Jersey Mike's A Sub Above WAC Golfer of the Week on three occasions and made her second consecutive NCAA postseason appearance. The San Angelo, Texas product won a pair of individual titles and was the runner-up at two tournaments, including the WAC Championship.
