Ramirez Earns Third Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above WAC Libero of the Week Honor

ARLINGTON, Texas - Abilene Christian volleyball's Brennan Ramirez earned Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Libero of the Week honors from the Western Athletic Conference for the third time this season, the conference announced on Tuesday. Ramirez led the Wildcats in digs in road matches at Utah Tech and at Southern Utah last week.
Ramirez was previously recognized as the WAC's top libero on Sept. 2 and Sept. 23. She collected 24 digs, six assists and a service ace in a 3-1 loss to conference leader Utah Tech on Oct. 23 before a 20-dig, two-assist effort in a 3-1 win over Southern Utah on Oct. 25.
The Waxahachie, Texas native is up to 357 digs this year, pacing ACU and ranking eighth in the program's Division I record book for digs in a season. Ramirez ranks second in the WAC with 4.06 digs per set and leads the conference in total digs while ranking 49th nationally. In conference play, she ranks second with 3.91 digs per set.
Ramirez's 24 digs versus Utah Tech were the second-most in a match in her career and the second-most by an ACU player this year. The Wildcats' 65 digs against the Trailblazers tied for their fourth-most in a match this season and the most in four sets.
ACU tallied 59 digs at Southern Utah, its third-most in a four-set match this year. Ramirez's 20 digs tied for her fourth-most this season and was the fifth time she collected 20 digs or more.
Ramirez and the Wildcats play their final nonconference game of the season versus North Texas at the UNT Volleyball Center in Denton at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
