ABILENE - Abilene Christian volleyball secured the final piece of its 2026 roster this week with the signing of Maddie Finnegan, a junior outside hitter from Westmont College. Finnegan stuffed the stat sheet in two seasons with the Warriors, earning All-PacWest Conference Second Team honors in 2025.
Finnegan completes the Wildcats' roster for the upcoming campaign, joining five newcomers from the high school ranks. ACU gets the season started Aug. 28-29 in the ACU Invitational, hosting Lamar, Cal State Bakersfield and North Texas at Moody Coliseum.
Finnegan was a workhorse for Westmont under head coach Ruth McGolpin, appearing in each of the team's 196 sets and starting all 53 matches over the past two seasons. She amassed 540 kills, 60 service aces, 489 digs and 50.0 blocks to total 628.5 points.
A native of Spokane, Wash., Finnegan paced the Warriors with 313 kills as a sophomore in 2025, good for sixth in the PacWest. She had 18 performances with double-digit kills and led the team with 28 aces. Finnegan averaged 3.19 kills and 3.64 points per set. Her 357.0 points ranked seventh in the conference.
Finnegan logged the Warriors' second-most digs with 281 alongside the fifth-most blocks with 27.0. She tallied 2.87 digs per set and chipped in 13 assists.
Finnegan wasted little time adjusting to the college game as a freshman in 2024, ranking second on the team with 227 kills. She led the squad with 32 aces, while her 208 digs were good for third. Finnegan averaged 2.32 kills and 2.12 digs per set with 10 assists. Off the court, she was named Academic All-PacWest with a 3.39 GPA.
Finnegan competed at Gonzaga Preparatory School, guiding the Bullpups to three consecutive state tournament appearances in Washington's highest classification. She earned All-Greater Spokane League First Team honors as a senior captain in 2023.
