Wildcats Fall at Cal Baptist

RIVERSIDE, California – Cal Baptist led from wire-to-wire Thursday night as the Lancers knocked off ACU, 83-60, in a Western Athletic Conference men's basketball contest at the CBU Events Center.

The loss drops the Wildcats to 9-13 overall and 1-6 in the WAC, while Cal Baptist– which beat ACU 60-54 in Abilene on Saturday, Jan. 18 – improves to 11-10 and 4-3. ACU is off until next Thursday (Feb. 6), when the Wildcats will take on Utah Tech in St. George, Utah. Then, they will play at Southern Utah next Saturday (Feb. 8) in Cedar City, Utah.

The Wildcats never led in the game but had the game tied at 7-7 after a Leo Bettiol layup with 17:45 to play in the first half. However, it was all CBU from there as the Lancers outscored ACU 14-4 over the next seven minutes to grab a 21-11 lead. Cal Baptist's lead was 43-26 at halftime, and ACU never got closer than 15 points the rest of the way.
