ACU Clashes with SMU in Spring's First Match

DALLAS - The 2025 team tennis season kicked off for the ACU women with a 7-0 loss at SMU on Sunday.
The Mustangs scored the first point of the day with two quick wins in the doubles portion of the event.
ACU's Olivia Sears and Masha Vrsalovic trailed just 5-3 when their match was stopped due to the results of the other two doubles matches.
In singles competition both Angela Del Campo and Maria Cascos -- playing in the No. 3 and No. 4 positions respectively -- gave their opponents a good showing.
Del Campo lost 6-2, 6-4, while Cascos dropped her match 6-3, 6-4.
The Wildcats hit the road in the second weekend of the season for two matches in Lubbock. ACU faces Xavier on Saturday, Jan. 18 before a Sunday tussle against the hosts from Texas Tech.
