ABILENE - The Abilene Christian football team is nationally ranked for the first time since moving up to the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level of Division I.
ACU (1-1, 1-0 in UAC) is ranked #25 in the
latest Stats Perform FCS Top 25, which was released on Monday.
The Wildcats are also receiving votes for the
FCS Coaches Poll.
ACU gave Big 12 member Texas Tech all it wanted in a 52-51 overtime loss to begin the season on Aug. 31. The Wildcats followed that performance with a 38-24 home victory over West Georgia to begin United Athletic Conference play last Saturday night.
The rest of the schedule looks to be getting tougher each week. Three of ACU's future opponents are nationally ranked, including two in the top 10 of both polls. Three other opponents are receiving votes in at least one poll.
The Wildcats travel to Northern Colorado on Saturday, Sept. 14. Kick-off is at 3 p.m. CDT in Greeley, Colorado.
ACU will play its next home game on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. against the Idaho Vandals, who are ranked #5 in the FCS Coaches Poll and #4 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25.
Tickets are available for general admission and the Brown Family Club Level. Click here to reserve your seat at Wildcat Stadium!
