Football schedule updated due to UAC realignment

ABILENE – On Monday, ACU and the United Athletic Conference released changes to the 2024 football schedule.

These changes come after Stephen F. Austin formally declared their intentions to leave the UAC and transition back to the Southland Conference effective July 1.

This transition has led to several changes in UAC scheduling, impacting ACU's slate.

The first five games of the season are unaffected. Highlights from that stretch include ACU's road matchup Aug. 31 at Texas Tech, the program's home opener Sept. 7 against West Georgia and the Family Weekend game at home Sept. 21 against Idaho.

The changes begin Oct. 5, with the Wildcats hosting Central Arkansas instead of the previously scheduled conference matchup against SFA. The Homecoming game will still take place Oct. 19, with ACU now facing Eastern Kentucky.

The Nov. 2 matchup in Abilene against Southern Utah and road matchup at Austin Peay on Nov. 9 will remain the same. However, the Nov. 16 home game, which originally featured Eastern Kentucky, is now a road game at Tarleton State. The Wildcats will end the regular season with a nonconference road matchup in Nacogdoches against Stephen F. Austin.

The Wildcats will now play five games in Wildcat Stadium and seven games on the road this season.

With one fewer home game than initially planned, season ticket holders who have already purchased or renewed for 2024 will be credited with a prorated portion of their purchase by the Wildcat Ticket Office. This credit can be redeemed to purchase an extra ticket for any home football game this season or be applied towards a 2025 football season ticket. Ticket holders may also apply their credit toward men's and women's basketball or baseball season or single-game tickets for the 2024-25 athletic season. The Wildcat Ticket Office asks that the credit be used by Sept. 1, 2025.

For those who have not yet renewed or purchased season tickets, prices will adjust proportionally for a five-game home schedule. If season ticket holders or those looking to purchase season tickets have any questions, they can reach out to Jarrett Hart, director of ticket sales and fan relations at jarrett.hart@acu.edu
