
Callaway caps career with appearance at NCAA West Regional

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas – ACU senior javelin thrower Kaitlyn Callaway capped her collegiate athletics career Thursday at the NCAA in the NCAA West Track and Field Regional Championship meet Wednesday with a 46th-place finish in the event at John McDonnell Field on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
Callaway posted a mark of 141 feet, 1 inch (43.01 meters) to finish 16th in her flight and 46th overall. The top 12 in Thursday's event have advanced to the NCAA Outdoor National Championship meet, set for June 5-8 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. The regional champion is UTEP senior Arianne Morris, who posted a mark of 188-4.
Two more Wildcats are left to compete in the West Regional on Saturday with Ja'Dasia Sims in the high jump and Ella Antilla in the women's triple jump. The top 12 marks in each field event will advance to the national championship meet.
