ABILENE – Abilene Christian continues its long string of road games with a weekend trip to play at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
ACU plays the Islanders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday before ending the series with a Sunday matinee at 1 p.m. The Friday and Sunday games are scheduled for ESPN+.
The Cats began this nine-game stretch of road games with a 6-4 win at Baylor on Wednesday. The spate of road games continues at TCU on Tuesday, the WAC opening series at Tarleton State the following weekend and at UTSA on March 12.
The 7-3 Wildcats are hitting .309 as a team with

The Islanders are 4-7 after snapping a four-game slide with a 2-1 win over UTRGV on Wednesday.

The Islanders carry a team earned run average of 7.33. Starter Matthew Watson has 18 strikeouts in 12 innings but hasn't figured in a pitching decision so far. Evans Hendricks is 2-0 with 16 strikeouts over 11.2 innings of work.
