Cats Launch Four-Game Set with Penn on Friday

ABILENE – Abilene Christian returns to Crutcher Scott Field this weekend for a four-game set with Penn.
 
The series begins with a 3:05 p.m. single game on Friday, followed by a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday and finishing with a 1:05 p.m. game on Sunday. The teams are meeting for the first time.
 
The Wildcats come into the series at 3-2 after an 8-4 loss to Oklahoma State at Globe Life Field.
 
Garrett Williams leads ACU with a .500 batting average and 1.509 OPS with 18 at-bats. Gino D'Alessio leads the Cats with three home runs and 10 runs batted in.
 
Starters Austin Glaze and Iain Campa bring matching 1-0 records and 1.80 earned run averages into the game. Campa leads ACU with nine strikeouts in five innings of work.
 
This is the opening series for the Quakers, who finished 34-16 last season, including a 16-5 Ivy League record. Penn went 5-3 in last year's trip through Texas and Louisiana.
 
Penn is selected to repeat its regular season Ivy League crown and returns six All-Ivy picks.
