LAREDO – Abilene Christian had its best round of the tournament on Tuesday and finished 15
th at the University of Houston's Border Olympics.
Trenton Johnson shot a 69 to lead ACU's round of 289.
Brian Comegys and
Charlie Jackson had rounds of 72 and
Preston DeFriend finished at 76.
Thomas Buisson scored an 81.
Johnson had five birdies on the day, stringing together back-to-back birdies on 11 and 12 and again on 14 and 15. Comegys had three birdies on Tuesday, DeFriend had two and Buisson and Jackson had one apiece.
For the tournament, Johnson was 35
th at one-over with nine birdies. Comegys finished four over for 44
th and had eight birdies.
Jackson was seven over for 59
th, followed by DeFriend at 11 over for 77
th and Buisson at plus-15 for 88
th. Jackson and DeFriends birdied six holes each for the tournament and Buisson added seven.
ACU returns to action at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate in Tucson on March 18.
