Men's Golf Finishes Up in North Carolina

SAPPHIRE, N.C. – Abilene Christian shot 295 in the final round on Tuesday and finished 12th in the JT Poston Invitational, hosted by Western Carolina University.
 
Zane Heusel shot a one-under-par 70 on Tuesday to finish in 36th at two-over with a 215. Trenton Johnson was 54th at 218 after his even-par round of 71 on Tuesday.
 
Preston Cooper and Gregoire Hoyeau finished in a tie for 64th at 220. Cooper had a 72 and Hoyeau finished off with a 75. Thomas Buisson shot 76 in the final round to finish 73rd at 221.
 
"The guys played well today," said ACU Head Coach Tom Shaw. "We made a ton of birdies, which we do quite often. We just made a few too many errors today but I was happy to see them climb the leaderboard today. Lots of good stuff happening with the team in these past two tournaments. We've identified what we need to improve upon and I'm confident we will be back up near the top of the leaderboard soon."

Heusel had a string of five consecutive birdies on Tuesday on holes 13 through 17 and also had back-to-back birdies on 5 and 6. He had 12 birdies for the tournament.
 
Johnson on Tuesday birdied holes 2, 12 and 13 among his nine for the tournament.
 
Cooper had six birdies in the final round, mastering 2, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 11. He ended with 10 for the tournament.
 
Buisson birded the 14th hole on Tuesday. He finished up with eight for the week.
 
Hoyeau had birdies Tuesday on holes 1 and 2 to finish with 12 for the tournament.
