ABILENE – Incoming Abilene Christian University football and basketball student-athletes are getting an opportunity this summer to develop their leadership skills through coursework in the university's partnership with the Texas Rangers, RangersU.
Leadership and Self-Assessment (LEAD 214) begins Monday with Heather Wyatt, ACU Senior Associate AD for Internal Operations/SWA, teaching the class
"I am excited to teach the leadership class this summer as we continue to expand our student-athlete development program," said Wyatt. "We aim to develop well-rounded leaders who can positively impact their teams and communities. Through interactive discussions and experiential learning activities, we will focus on leadership styles, communication, decision-making, and goal-setting. Together, we will unlock their leadership potential and empower them to make a lasting impact."
Wyatt's educational background includes pursuing an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership at ACU, with an expected graduation date in 2024. She holds an M.S. in Sport Management (2018) and a B.S. in Government (2016) from Liberty University.
