Zane Heusel fired a blistering 66 and Abilene Christian moved up into a sixth-place tie after Saturday's second round of the 2023 WAC Men's Golf Championship with one round to go.

The Wildcats trimmed seven strokes off of their first-round effort, finishing at 282 on Saturday.

Zane Heusel who had just the kind of round you've come to expect from one of our top players. Also,
Charlie Jackson had one his lowest rounds ever, 69. Tomorrow we will have to go pretty deep early to put some pressure on the leaders, but I think we're up to the task."
Heusel had the second-best round among WAC golfers on Saturday and the best ACU round of the season. He moved from 21
st in the player standings into a tie for fourth place. His six-under round on Saturday included seven birdies, including four in a row on holes 2 through 5.

Charlie Jackson is tied at 25
th after his round of 69. He eagled the par-5 635-yard 16
th hole and had four birdies in his round Saturday.

Logan Diomede and
Thomas Buisson are tied at 42
nd. Diomede shot a 76 and Buisson came in at 75 on Saturday. Buisson had four birdies and Diomede collected three.

Brian Comegys shot a 72 on Saturday, coming up with six birdies.

The Wildcats hit the course at 9:10 a.m. on Sunday for the final round.
