Hoyeau Ties For Sixth, ACU Logs Best Showing at WAC Championship Since 2022

McKINNEY, Texas - Grégoire Hoyeau tied for sixth place at the Western Athletic Conference Championship while Abilene Christian men's golf placed third on Wednesday. Hoyeau landed in the conference tournament's top 10 at The Dye Golf Course at Stonebridge Ranch for the second year in a row.
The Wildcats marked their best placement at the WAC Championship since clinching the conference title in their debut season in the conference in 2022. They closed at 16-over 880 with Tarleton State topping the leaderboard at 12-over 876. UT Arlington's Arth Sinha ran away with the individual victory at 7-under 209.
ACU tied for the best showing in the final round at 1-over 289. It was the top-performing team in the field on par 4s at 25-over and ranked third with 47 birdies.
Hoyeau, a senior, collected his fourth top-10 performance of the season and the eighth of his career, closing at 2-over 218. He tied for third with 35 pars and registered the fewest bogeys by a Wildcat with just nine.
Hoyeau shot 2-over 74 in the final round, including two birdies and an even-par 36 on the front nine. He shot above par on just three holes. Hoyeau drew for fourth on par 4s at 2-over. Last season, he placed eighth at the WAC Championship.
Jack Hollingsed slotted into a tie for 11th place at 6-over 222. He scored 1-over 73 on Wednesday with four birdies, and a 1-under 35 on the front nine. Hollingsed landed in 14th at the event in 2025.
Upperclassmen Thomas Buisson and Tres Hill delivered the Wildcats' top showings in the final round to each tie for 15th at 7-over 223. Buisson matched the field's best performance on Wednesday at 2-under 70 to jump eight spots. He had four birdies, including on each of his first three holes of the round. Buisson tied for fifth on par 3s at 3-over while leading the Wildcats and drawing for fifth with 11 birdies.
Hill scored an even 72 to wrap up the WAC Championship, matching his showing in the second round. He earned two birdies on both the front and back nine.
Colin Leonard was ACU's final competitor, tying for 21st at 13-over 13-over 229. He shot 6-over 78 on Wednesday and was the Wildcats' leader on par 5s at 7-under.
