Cats Host Kittley Invitational This Weekend

ABILENE – Abilene Christian hosts its first track and field meet of the season Friday and Saturday with athletes from a dozen colleges joining ACU for the Wes Kittley Invitational.
The meet launches Tuesday with the discus throw at 2 p.m. on the Elmer Gray Stadium infield, followed by a distance carnival at 6:45 p.m. with the first of two sections of the 1500-meter run, followed by the 5000 meters at 7:30 p.m. and the 10,000 meters at 8:45 p.m.
Saturday's schedule begins with field events at 10:30 a.m. with track events launching at 2 p.m. The hammer throw and shot put begin at 1 p.m. at the East Throwing Field. All other events are in the stadium.
Approximately 60 ACU student-athletes are scheduled to compete. Texas Tech, Tarleton State, Hardin-Simmons, McMurry, Angelo State, St. Edward's, Midwestern State, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Central Oklahoma, UT-Dallas, Western Texas and Ranger are sending entrants to Abilene.
