Maria Cascos registered a split set win at No. 5 singles, but Abilene Christian dropped a 6-1 decision at Wichita State on Friday.
Cascos defeated Marlene Foster, 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 10-5.
Olivia Sears lost a tough 7-5, 7-6 (8-6) match at No. 3 singles.
"We got a good fight out of Olivia and Maria, but the rest was very subpar," said ACU Head Coach Bryan Rainwater. "Wichita State is a solid team and they really took it to us."
Abilene Christian plays at Oral Roberts at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
