CORPUS CHRISTI – Abilene Christian split a pair of 4-0 decisions at the H-E-B Tournament of Champions on Friday, falling to Radford before taking down Oral Roberts.

The Wildcats didn't get a win in the first match, but Benjamin McDonald and Noah Wheen were tied in their No. 2 doubles match when RU clinched the doubles point.

"I was pretty disappointed in that first match," said ACU Head Coach Juan Nunez. "We were up in doubles but we couldn't capitalize."

The Wildcats were playing without injured Jose Maria Rastrojo, who may miss the remainder of the season, and Cesar Barranquero, who sat out with a lesser injury.

"This was our first match with Jose, who has been the heart and soul of the team," Nunez. "It was cold today, so we held Cesar out. But I've been saying it all year, we're going to need the entire team and I was proud of how our guys responded in the second match."

ACU fired back in the second set, taking the doubles point with wins by Dario Kmet and Daniel Morozov at No., 1 and Savan Chhabra and Ethan Scribner at No. 2.

Kmet and Scribner claimed singles wins at Nos. 1 and 5, respectively, before Morozov clinched the match with a win at the second line of singles.

ACU wraps up its stay in Corpus Christi with a fifth-place match against New Mexico State at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
