Women's Tennis Set to Host Busy Weekend

ABILENE – Abilene Christian women's tennis has a full weekend of home tennis this weekend with three consecutive matches.
 
The Wildcats host New Mexico at 1 p.m. on Friday, Lamar at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Tyler Junior College at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
 
ACU is 4-5 this season after losing a battle at TCU, 6-2. Freshmen Olivia Sears (6-2) and Maria Cascos (5-3) lead the team in singles wins. Cascos and Maryjoe Crisologo have built the best record for the team in doubles at 4-4.
 
New Mexico is 3-0 with shutout wins over CSU-Pueblo, Colorado College and Montana State. UNM has won the last three meetings against the Wildcats but hasn't been to Abilene since 2018.
 
Lamar is 2-4 after a 6-1 win over UT-Rio Grande Valley. Megan Do leads the Cardinals with a 3-0 singles record.
 
Tyler Junior College is 2-1 on the season and plays Friday at Midwestern State before heading to Abilene.
