Rice Visits ACU on Thursday

ABILENE – Abilene Christian hosts Rice at 7 p.m. on Thursday, hoping to improve to 2-0 on the season.
The Wildcats are coming off a 77-52 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God University.
Rice and ACU played last season with the Owls scoring an 85-69 win in Houston.
ACU Storylines
FRESH OFF THE BENCH: ACU freshmen Payton Hull and Emma Troxell got a successful first taste of college basketball as non-starters. Hull led the team in scoring with 14 points and Troxell added 10.
INSIDE DOMINANCE: Addison Martin scored 13 points, shooting five of 10 from the field. Martin also had three offensive rebounds in the win over SAGU on Monday.
TRIPLE THREATS: Starter Aspen Thornton had three three-pointers among her 12 points on Monday and Payton Hull added three more among her 14 points off the bench. Binghamton transfer Clare Traeger added two more and ACU had 10 for the night.
THAT D: ACU forced 20 turnovers, including taking four charges on the night. Aspen Thornton added three steals. ACU limited the Lions to 32 percent shooting from the field and 22 percent from three-point range.
GLASS DOMINANCE: The Wildcats out-rebounded SAGU 43-30 on the night, including 19 offensive rebounds and 24 defensive. That led to a 13-3 edge for the Wildcats on second-chance points.

- Malia Fisher, a preseason second-team All-AAC selection, had nine points and 10 rebounds in the Owls' win over the Huskies.
- Destiny Jackson was solid in directing the offense with three assists and no turnovers in the season opener.
