Wildcats Battle in 4-3 Loss at Air Force

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Air Force held off Abilene Christian, 4-3, in a match that featured five tiebreakers and three three-set matches.

The Wildcats won the doubles point with Dario Kmet and Cesar Barranquero getting a 6-3 win at No. 1 and Savan Chhabra and Ethan Scribner taking a 7-5 win at No. 3.

After Air Force tied the match with a win at third singles, Barranquero took the win in the second flight, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 for a 2-1 lead.

Chhabra made it 3-1, grinding out a three-set win, 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (7-0), but the Falcons took over from there.

Daniel Morozov fell in three sets despite winning 15 games and a 7-1 tiebreak. Noah Wheen forced two tiebreakers at sixth singles but came up shorts.

ACU returns to action next weekend in Louisiana's Winter Classic. The draws will be announced Monday.
