ABILENE – The ACU soccer team remains on their home field this weekend when they host a pair of matchups. The rescheduled game from the previous weekend now takes play this Friday, Sept. 9 when the 'Cats welcome Prairie View A&M to town at 7 p.m. ACU (2-2-1) wraps the weekend with Senior Day against Texas Southern on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. Both games will air on WAC International, and prior to the game Sunday, the team will honor its seven seniors they will say goodbye to after the season.

  • FRIDAY | The first 200 students in attendance will get a free scarf giveaway.
  • SUNDAY | ACU will recognize its seven seniors prior to kickoff against Texas Southern. Come on out to support the seniors.

ACU STORYLINES

  • KEEPS ON SCORING – Sophomore Chayse Thorn is off to a great start this season. After scoring a pair of goals in ACU's win over UTEP, she added another to her total in the first half this past Sunday against Louisiana. The Rowlett, Texas native leads ACU this season with her three scores, and has done so on just eight shot attempts, and just five on frame. The eight shot attempts is the second-most on the team. Thorn has already matched her season total from a year ago, and five of her six career scores have come at home.
  • ROSS CAN! – Freshman Lili Ross has made four consecutive starts in net, and is 2-1-1 with 15 saves in 347 minutes. The rookie has tallied two clean sheets already in place of the injured Lily Foster, and has allowed just two goals for a save percentage of .882.
  • SENIOR DAY – ACU will honor seven seniors on Sunday, including Caylie Catalano, Faith Husbenet, Natalie Jones, Ellen Joss, Nikki Romero, Brennan Reuland, and Caylen Wright. The group has combined for 32 wins in four seasons, and has made two appearances in the conference tournament. This group has taken care of Elmer Gray Stadium, going 16-4-5 at home.
  • THE COACH – Head coach Casey Wilson, in his 16th season, is approaching 170 wins at ACU. The head man has 165 victories in his time as the only coach in program history.
  • HISTORY BOOKS – Senior Natalie Jones is currently sixth all-time at ACU in career goals scored with 18. She also ranks seventh in program history with 12 career assists, and her 135 career shot attempts are tied for eighth all-time. Senior Caylen Wright has scored 15 times in her career, the ninth-most ever.

SCOUTING PRAIRIE VIEW A&M (0-2-0)

  • The Panthers are looking for their first win, and have not played since Aug. 28, they fell to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 8-1, on the road.
  • Prairie View A&M's lone goal this season came from Lesa Griffin, while Brooklyn Hawkins leads the way with six saves.

SCOUTING TEXAS SOUTHERN (0-4-0)

  • The Tigers are also looking for their first win, and open their weekend on Friday at Louisiana-Monroe.
  • TSU has only scored twice in four games, with JJ Binder and Hayden McMillan contributing with goals.
  • Jaidyn Christophe leads the way in net, tallying 27 saves in four games.
