Eichelberger goes 2-3 against SFA

ABILENE, Texas – It was a close game on Friday night at Poly Wells Field, but a three-run inning for the Ladyjacks proved to be the difference as SFA took the 3-0 win. Sidney Holman-Mansell went the distance in the circle and Mercedes Eichelberger led the Wildcats going 2-3 at the plate.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Miranda Lista led of the bottom of the third with a single and two batters later Mercedes Eichelberger doubled down the left field line to put runners on second and third, but the Wildcats were unable to bring a runner home.
- The Ladyjacks did all of their damage in the top of the fourth with back-to-back singles, a runner scoring on a wild pitch, and a two-run homer.
- The Wildcats threatened again in the bottom of the fourth with runners on second and third but a long foul out down the left field line ended the inning.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Holman-Mansell tallied six strikeouts in the start.
- Eichelberger extended her hitting streak to five games and her on-base streak to six.
ON DECK:
- The Wildcats will be back at Poly Wells Field for two more against SFA on Saturday at 12 and 2 p.m.
