Softball preps for road series at Texas A&M

ABILENE - Through the first four conference series, the Wildcats sit at 8-4 and sit in second place in the WAC Southwest Division. The team has a bye from conference play this weekend and will have a tough test as they head to College Station to take on the Aggies at Davis Diamond.

Last Time Out

Wildcats Storylines (17-15, 8-4 WAC)

  • ACU earned another WAC series win last weekend taking two of three from Sam Houston. Sidney Holman-Mansell picked up both wins on Friday night.
  • The Wildcats erupted for 12 runs in their first win over Sam Houston last weekend which was a season high.
  • Calie Burris continues to lead the Wildcats at the plate, hitting .381 on the season and slugging at a .631 clip. Burris and Mercedes Eichelberger are leading the Wildcats with 32 hits apiece. 
  • The Wildcats are 0-2 against Texas A&M with both meetings coming on opening weekend of 2020. 

Scouting the Aggies (19-12, 2-7 SEC)

  • Texas A&M has five players hitting above .300 on the year and as a team they are hitting .290. Haley Lee is leading the team with a .483 batting average and slugging .828. Lee has nine doubles and seven homeruns. 
  • The Aggies pitching staff has a 2.97 ERA led by Makinzy Herzog who has 10 appearances and an 0.76 ERA. Emiley Kennedy leads all pitchers with 16 appearances and 69.1 innings pitched.
