COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The ACU softball team dropped a pair of tight games on day two of the Aggie Classic on Friday, losing to Bryant 2-1, and to Utah State 4-2.

Game 1: Bryant 2, ACU 1
Â
ACU managed three hits, highlighted by a triple from freshman
Emerson Meggers, but left four runners on base, while Bryant capitalized on two hits and five walks to secure the win.

Down 1-0, ACU tied the game in the fourth inning when senior
Elizabeth Schaefer got on base with a single and was replaced by pinch runner
Julianna Martinez, who stole second and advanced to third on a flyout. Martinez then raced home on a wild pitch, evening the score at 1–1.

But, in the bottom of the seventh Bryant scored on a RBI single to left to claim the 2-1 victory.

Lindsey Oliver pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowing no hits while giving up one earned run, walking three, and striking out two batters. Despite issuing three wild pitches and hitting one batter, Oliver maintained a zero-hit performance across 11 batters faced.

Ella Beeman relieved Oliver, pitching four innings with two hits and one earned run allowed, while striking out four and walking two. Beeman faced 18 batters and threw 48 strikes out of 69 pitches, demonstrating control and effectiveness in her outing.

Game 2: Utah State 4, ACU 2

Utah State secured the win with a two-run seventh inning, overcoming ACU's sixth-inning rally that produced two runs on a double by freshman
Jadyn Dawson.

The frame started when
Ciana Arguijo walked to get on base, followed by a walk to
Erianna Garcia.
Emalee Romero pinch ran for
Elizabeth Schaefer, and Dawson delivered the clutch double to right center, driving in both Romero and Garcia, tying the game at 2–2.

In the seventh inning, Utah State capitalized on back-to-back sacrifice flies to plate two runs, regaining the lead at 4–2. Despite a late double by
Emerson Meggers, ACU was unable to rally.

Leah Meyer pitched a complete game, throwing 7 innings while allowing 9 hits and 4 runs, with 3 of those runs earned. She struck out 5 batters and issued 2 walks, throwing a total of 128 pitches, 77 of which were strikes.

Erianna Garcia reached base twice, scoring one run and collecting one hit.
