Reiling goes deep in ACU's first Hawaii game

HONOLULU – The ACU softball team was tripped up in the first round of the Hawaii Tournament on Thursday, falling 8-1 at the hands of North Dakota.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Hawks took a 2-0 lead into the home first, where Matti Reiling led off the inning with a solo home run to the deepest part of the park.
  • The fifth inning got away from the Wildcats, as six UND hits combined with an ACU error allowed six runs to score.
  • Avery Miloch and Miranda Lista each added a base hit for the Purple and White, while Hannah Benavides picked up a pair of strikeouts in the circle.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
  • Reiling holds ACU's longest hit streak of the season, hitting safely in seven straight. She is the fourth Wildcat hitter to go deep so far this spring.
  • Baserunning continues to be a big part of the Wildcat offense, swiping seven bags in 12 attempts.

ON DECK:
  • ACU is back in action with two games on Friday, playing Montana at 4 p.m. CT before taking on Hawaii at 9 p.m. CT. The tournament wraps up on Saturday with opponents to be determined after Friday's games.
