Guerrero battles back to win three-setter, helps ACU to first team victory

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The ACU women's tennis team picked up a 4-3 victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating UTSA on the road. The Wildcats remain busy and now turn their attention to three home matches in four days this weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • UTSA started a player down in the third doubles flight, and ACU picked up the doubles point when the tandem of Danielle Viljoen and Allison Stewart picked up a 6-1 victory on Court 2. 
  • ACU again began with an advantage in singles action, as Paula Garrote was credit with a win on Court 6. 
  • Claire Fisher defeated Sophie Omoworare 6-2, 6-3 in the fifth flight, and Andrea Guerrero's three-set victory (4-6, 6-2, 6-4) over Eva Beyebach in #4 singles gave the Purple and White all the needed points for the win. 
 
UP NEXT: 
  • The Purple and White are home for the first time this week, hosting Angelo State on Thursday before double-dipping with home matches against Dallas Baptist and Tyler Junior College on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
