Wildcats shoot 55 percent en route to eighth-straight win

ABILENE, Texas — The Wildcats reached the century mark for the second time on the season and took care of business against Howard Payne on Sunday afternoon. The team started with a 10-0 run and cemented their defense early as they ran away with the 112-41 victory to move to 8-2 on the season.

- A steal from Reggie Miller and a feed on the break to Cameron Steele set the tone for the game as ACU took the 4-0 lead.
- Immanuel Allen hit a corner three to give ACU a 13-3 lead four minutes in.
- A jumper in the paint from Mahki Morris gave the Wildcats a 19-9 lead and the Yellow Jackets would not get within 10 again in the game.
- With 8:36 left in the first half the Wildcats got two free throws from Furaha Cadeaux de Dieu that started a 18-0 run over the next five minutes.
- A steal from Logan McLaughlin and the feed to Ja'Sean Jackson for the layup closed out the first half with the Wildcats up 57-23.
- Miller hit a wide-open three on the wing on an assist from Morris just two minutes into the second half that gave ACU a 39-point lead.
- Yuot Gai cleaned up an ACU miss and got the putback to give the Wildcats a 42-point lead.
- Jackson added to his career night with a three from the win on the feed from McLaughlin.
- Gai hit the open three from the top of the key that pushed the Wildcats into triple digits on the night.
- The 71-point margin of victory was the largest for the Wildcats in the DI-era.
- It was the first time the Wildcats had hit 112 points in a game since doing it against Howard Payne in the 2017-18 season.
- Cameron Steele led the Wildcats with a career-high 18 points while also grabbing seven boards, he is the seventh different player to lead the team in scoring this season.
- Ja'Sean Jackson scored 15 points, grabbed eight rebounds, had three steals, and two assists, all either new or tying career-highs.
- Six different Wildcats had five or more rebounds with the team holding a 47-22 advantage on the boards.
- The team also held a 70-6 advantage in points in the paint.
- The Wildcats played 12 guys on the night with everyone scoring at least five points.
- The team forced 31 turnovers and totaled 18 steals on the night. The 18 steals matches a season-high and is tied for the fourth-most in a game.
