Wildcats dish out 23 helpers in dominant Sunday win

ABILENE – After a 20-hour whirlwind of trying to find a replacement team to play over the weekend, the ACU women's basketball team finally did take the floor at the Teague Center Sunday afternoon against the University of North Texas at Dallas. The Wildcats scored the first nine points of the game, made a run at the end of the first quarter, and dominated the second quarter on their way to a 92-47 victory, their fourth in a row and seventh of the season. Four Wildcats finished in double-figures, and the team had 23 total assists, their most in a game in nearly two seasons.
Turning Point: The first four minutes of the first quarter, and the entire second quarter.
ACU built a 9-0 lead to start the game, but UNT Dallas started a comeback, including taking a 10-9 lead. ACU then tied it with a Jamie Bonnarens free throw, and then built an 18-10 lead towards the end of the first period. The second quarter would prove to be all Wildcats, as they outscored their guests 31-8 on their way to a 49-24 hafltime lead.

- 1Q | Bonnarens opened the game with a triple, and it began a 9-0 run. Kamryn Mraz and Madi Miller backed it up with triples of their own, with the latter forcing an early UNT Dallas timeout.
