ABILENE, Texas – The ACU cross country teams are preparing to head to Waco, Texas for the NCAA South Central Regional. 14 Wildcat runners will represent the Purple and White with an opportunity to head to the NCAA National Championships next weekend.
"For our women, the goal for regionals is pretty straightforward: the top two teams automatically qualify for nationals and we want to be in one of those two spots. Our women are well prepared and excited to rise to the challenge," head coach Jarvis Jelen said. "On the men's side, we want to close this season out on a high note, after a disappointing WAC championship race. We know that we are capable of more. We want to use this race to take a step forward in our competitiveness in the region and use it as a springboard towards a great track season."

Regional Rankings
The US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its' most recent edition of the regional rankings on Nov. 1. ACU's women rank 3rd behind Arkansas and Texas, while the Wildcat men rank 13th in the South Central.

NCAA Championships
The 2021 NCAA National Championships are set to return to their normal format and will take place in Tallahassee, Fla., on Nov. 20. The race is hosted by Florida State and will take place at Apalachee Regional Park.
