ABILENE -- Abilene Christian women's tennis (4-7) split its Arlington Tennis Center doubleheader Saturday, following a 4-3 loss to Tyler Junior College with a 7-0 triumph over UT Tyler.

Claire Fisher led the Wildcats with four wins apiece. Memishishi won each of her No. 2 singles matches in straight sets and paired with senior
Sarah Adams to win both their top-line contests. Fisher, meanwhile, got the job done at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles with partners

Sylvia Viljoen.
Fisher and Memishishi were the lone Wildcats to score singles victories vs. TJC, which is the No. 2 ranked junior college in the latest ITA poll.
Memishishi's win at No. 2 over Lucie Devier, 7-6, 6-3, tied the team score at 2-2, but Emelie Schwarte edged Adams, 7-5, 7-5, at No. 1 and Helena Jansen clinched the TJC victory after holding off
Allison Stewart at No. 3 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
ACU's win over the Patriots was rather swift. All three doubles pairings won by four or more points and all six singles contests were decided in straight sets.
The Wildcats return home next Friday (Feb. 28) and Sunday (March 1) for the start of Southland Conference play vs. Southeastern La. and McNeese. ACU's win last season over the Cowgirls (4-3) gave the Wildcats their first regular-season title.
