ABILENE – The Abilene Christian softball team begins Southland play Friday against Southeastern Louisiana for the fourth consecutive season. This season's meetings will take place in Hammond, La. where the Wildcats and Lady Lions will play a 5 p.m. doubleheader Friday and Saturday at noon.
The Wildcats swept the Lady Lions last season by scores of 3-2, 7-0 and 12-5 at Poly Wells Field. ACU previously opened the 2016 conference season in Hammond and broke out the brooms for a three-game sweep putting up scores of 7-3, 6-5, and 13-2.
ACU hosted Bowling Green earlier this week in for a Tuesday night doubleheader. Senior
Hannah Null went the distance in game one striking out eight and allowing two runs on six hits to beat the Falcons 3-2. The Wildcats then took a commanding 8-0 lead by the second inning of game two after putting up seven runs on five hits, to defeat BGSU, 8-4.
