Softball continues action at Wells Field against HBU

ABILENE – The Abilene Christian softball team plays host to Houston Baptist in a three-game series at Poly Wells Field between Friday and Saturday. Friday's doubleheader is slated to start at 5 p.m. while Saturday's series finale is scheduled for 12 p.m.

The Wildcats look to rebound from their series last weekend against Northwestern State. ACU dropped the final two games against the Lady Demons after winning game one, 4-3, as senior Hannah Null struck out seven in a complete-game effort. She whiffed another seven batters during Saturday's 4-0 defeat and needs only two more strikeouts this weekend for 500 in her career.

Senior Braegan Hamilton led the Wildcats with three hits and had one RBI, while senior Holly Neese drove in two runs in game one thanks to a two-run home that was her fourth of the season.

The Wildcats swept the Huskies last season by scores of 6-5, 10-0 (6), and 8-1. ACU recorded 29 hits during last season's series vs. HBU led by Brianna Barnhill (.444), Alyson Bishoff (.429), Hamilton (.375) and Hedrick (.300).
