ABILENE – The new-look Wildcats of head coach Brit Bonneau take to Crutcher Scott Field for the first time Friday at 4 p.m. when they begin a three-game weekend series against the Bobcats of Quinnipiac (Conn.) University.
ACU returns only eight players from last year's team, while welcoming in five freshmen and a host of transfers that give the program well over 20 draft-eligible players (juniors, seniors, grad students). The Bobcats also are hoping to bounce back from a tough 2017 campaign in which they posted a .360 winning percentage (18-32) and finished 11-13 withing the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
The Wildcats' probable starting pitchers for this weekend's games are
Jonathan Nicholson,
Brock Barger and
Drew Hanson. Nicholson and Barger each are transfers from Midland College, while Hanson is a three-year letter winner.
Live stats and video stream are available for all three-games. Friday's and Sunday's contests additionally will air on 98.1 FM.
This weekend's game times are Friday at 4 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m. Sunday's start time was moved up to accommodate Quinnipiac's travel plans.
