WBB's Wildcat Kids Day game Thursday at 11 a.m.

ABILENE – The inaugural Wildcat Kids' Day women's basketball game between Abilene Christian and Howard Payne will tip off Thursday at 11 a.m. at Moody Coliseum. A crowd of more than 3,000 is expected as elementary school students from Austin, Abilene Christian, Lee, Bonham and Taylor will be in attendance. They will be treated to Gatti's Pizza plus discounted snack prices at the concession stand, including $1 popcorn boxes and $2 sodas.
A chorus from Abilene Christian Elementary School also will be there to sing The Star Spangled Banner.
There additionally will be school contests and games at halftime, and afterward the ACU women's basketball team will meet their assigned school in the stands to give high fives and sign autographs.
Fans who can't make it to the game can listen on 98.1 FM – The Ticket or tune into the live stream on ACUSports.com. Zach Carlyle will handle the play-by-play.
ACU is off to a 1-0 start following last Friday's season-opening, 90-47, victory over Southwest. Junior guard Breanna Wright scored 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting, and in doing so surpassed 600 career points and 100 career 3-pointers made. Sara Williamson (14) and Makayla Mabry (10) also reached double figures in scoring, as did reserve Josie Larson, who was a perfect 4-of-4 from the field (2-2, 3-point range) in totaling 10 points in 11 minutes.
The Yellow Jackets of Howard Payne started their season with a 69-62 loss at Austin College. Last season's team went 15-11 and posted an 11-6 record against the American Southwest Conference.
ACU leads its all-time series vs. HPU, 25-4.
