#1 Oregon State blanks Wildcats, 11-0

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Drew Rasmussen and Jake Mulholland combined on a two-hit shutout Saturday afternoon as No. 1 Oregon State knocked off ACU, 11-0, at Goss Stadium.
The shutout is the 13th of the season for the nation's best pitching staff, and marked just the third time the Wildcats have been blanked this season. Oregon State – which had to rally to beat ACU, 5-4, in 11 innings Friday night — has two of the three shutouts on ACU with a 9-0 win Thursday paired with Saturday afternoon's run-rule victory.
ACU starting pitcher Derek Scott had to leave the game after the first inning (a three-up, three-down inning) after a hard-hit ball off the bat of Cadyn Grenier hit him in the pitching (left) hand and forced him from the contest with what was later determined to be a broken finger. David Ruot replaced him and pitched well until running into trouble in the fifth. Oregon State broke open a 1-0 game with a five-run fifth and then tacked on five more in the sixth against Caleb Dougherty.
Later in the game, ACU catcher Luis Trevino had to leave the game after suffering a concussion, which will likely keep him out of the lineup in Sunday's season finale. Trevino and Scott join a long list of injuries the Wildcats have suffered this season, including season-ending injuries to pitchers Case Rolen and Bryce Hill, utility infielder Hunter Hays and a shoulder injury to second baseman Dalon Farkas that relegated him to either DH or outfield duties.
Jack Anderson – who had the game-winning RBI single in Friday night's game — had three RBI Saturday, while Grenier, Trevor Larch and Cary Elliott had two RBI apiece.
The Wildcats (13-42) and the top-ranked Beavers (48-4) will close out the regular season Sunday with a game set to start at 12:05 p.m. (2:05 p.m. Abilene time).
