ABILENE – Abilene Christian women's basketball concludes its Southland Conference homestand Saturday at 2 p.m. when the Wildcats play host to the Sam Houston State Bearkats. ACU began conference play Thursday afternoon with an 80-70 win over New Orleans, during which five Wildcats scored in double figures.
ACU's men's team, which lost at New Orleans Thursday night, will play host to Sam Houston State at 7:30 p.m.
Matchup: Abilene Christian (7-4, 1-0 Southland) vs. Sam Houston State (3-6, 0-0 Southland)
Tipoff: 2 p.m. (CT), Saturday, Dec. 28
Series: The Wildcats lead their all-time series vs. Sam Houston, 12-6, and are 6-1 vs. the Bearkats since joining the Southland Conference in 2013-14.

ACU began its fifth season of Southland Conference competition and first as a NCAA postseason qualifier Dec. 28 with an 80-70 win home win vs. New Orleans ... ACU climbed out of a 8-point hole with a 14-4 run to end the first quarter and pushed its lead to eight (38-30) at halftime.
Dominique Golightly, Breanna Wright and Taudenciah Oluoch all scored 14 points vs. the Privateers ... Sara Williamson dropped in 11 points ... Josie Larson scored a career high 13 points in 13 minutes coming off the bench.
Wright played the sixth complete game of her career and reached 300 career points
Golightly contributed a career high 38 minutes, and with 12 rebounds, posted her third career double-double.
