WACO – ACU wrapped up the pre-season portion of its schedule Saturday night with a 4-1 loss at Baylor in a friendly at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field on the BU campus.

ACU will officially open the 2015 season Friday at 9 p.m. (CT) against Arizona in Tucson, Ariz., before playing at Texas-El Paso next Sunday at 2 p.m. (CT). The Wildcats are picked to finish fifth this season in the Southland Conference after finishing 8-9-2 overall (5-4-2 in Southland play) in 2014.

The Bears scored twice in the opening 25 minutes against ACU keeper Kelsey Dombrowski and carried a 2-1 lead to halftime. Baylor then added a pair of second-half goals against Sydney Newton to take the 4-1 victory.

The Wildcats' lone goal came in the 44th minute as redshirt sophomore Kate Seay blasted a shot from the left wing (20 yards out) past Baylor's Jody Lee, cutting ACU's halftime deficit to 2-1. But the Bears scored in the 50th and 70th minutes of the second half on goals by Bri Campos and Julie James to pick up the victory.
