G3ABILENE - Abilene Christian baseball looks to jump back in the win column and snap a four-game losing streak this weekend when the Wildcats travel to Hammond, La., for a three-game Southland Conference series vs. Southeastern Louisiana.
Game times from Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field are Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. However, the schedule may be adjusted with there being a 90 percent of thundershowers predicted for Friday. The forecast for Saturday and Sunday calls for mostly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 70s.

The Wildcats come into this weekend at 1-11 overall and 1-2 vs. the Southland following last weekend's series loss to Nicholls, in which all three games were decided by two or fewer runs, and a midweek sweep at the hands of UT Arlington. The Mavs won game one at Crutcher Scott Field Tuesday, 3-1, and rallied to defeat the Wildcats at home Wednesday night, 7-5.
Aaron Draper led ACU's offense vs. the Mavs with two hits and three runs scored. While on the mound, the Wildcats received several scoreless outings from their relievers, including
Landon Holifield, who in his ACU debut Tuesday struck out three Mavs in 3.0 innings of work.
The Lions started conference play last weekend by taking two of three from Incarnate Word in San Antonio by scores of 5-3, 4-1 and 10-11, which lifted their season mark to 13-5. Earlier this spring, Southeastern swept a three game home series from Northwestern and nearly upset No. 9 LSU before falling on the road in Baton Rouge, 9-8.
Southeastern leads the Southland in most offensive categories, including batting average (.302) and runs scored (128). The Lions also have a respectable team earned-run average of 3.75 and have the most wins of any team in the league.
