ABILENE - The sixth-ranked Abilene Christian men's tennis team fell 4-3 to DI opponent Lamar at the Thompson Family Center Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals clinched the match at No. 5 singles where Carlos Valdenebro held off Wildcat freshman
Guilherme Gesser, 6-1, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (7).
Lamar improved to 1-2 with the win, while ACU fell to 4-4.

Michael Morris each won matches in singles and as the No. 3 doubles team, which topped the tandem of Mikko Rajamaki and Bruno Snyder, 8-2.
Hach then went on to beat Denis Ermilov in straight sets at No. 1, 6-2, 6-4, while Morris beat Rajamaki at No. 6, 6-2, 7-5 for his second victory of the season. Hach's win improved his season record to 6-2.
Freshman Borja Cortes earned ACU's third point and evened his season mark at 4-4 with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Snyder at No.4 singles.
ACU returns to action in two weeks (Feb. 25) for a home tripleheader vs. Hardin-Simmons, New Mexico Military Institute, and Texas-Permian Basin.
