ACU has reached an agreement with YOE TV to stream selected Wildcat athletic events online. ACU is the first collegiate athletics program to partner with YOE TV and subscribers will be able to enjoy near-HD quality on all ACU athletics events.
"We're extremely excited to announce our partnership with YOE TV and our ability to deliver a virtual network for all live streaming and archived athletic contests and productions," Mosley said. "We have shared in our fans' frustrations the past several years and have spent a great amount of time this past month evaluating various platforms and feel that YOE TV offers the quality and features to serve our needs for years to come."
Athletics department personnel have spent the last two weeks testing the system with various settings and equipment (simulating both the home and road conditions that will be used to broadcast throughout the year) and Mosley said he believes ACU will be able to provide a level of quality previously unavailable.
ACU has invested in new broadcasting equipment and HD cameras and is intent on providing its fans with a quality online viewing experience. YOE TV is also working with technology in the coming months on its end that should allow fans to connect to gaming and other devices (Wii, XBox, etc.) to allow for a viewing experience on HD LED, LCD and Plasma televisions.
All scheduled live events will continue to be available for a nominal pay-per-view fee. Fans will be able to log on to the Wildcats' YOE TV channel at www.acu.yoetv.org for a complete broadcast schedule. The first event scheduled to be broadcast, with Austin Gwin (co-host of the Chris Thomsen Show) providing play by play, is Thursday night's Lone Star Conference volleyball match against West Texas A&M.
Saturday's home-opening football game against Angelo State at 6 p.m. will be the first football game to be broadcast on ACU's new viewing platform. The Wildcats' next road football game – Oct. 8 at Eastern New Mexico – will give all ACU fans a chance to watch the team for free.
"Road venues still provide some unique challenges due to the lack of internet access at some locations," Mosley said, "and we want to ensure viewers that we will be able to provide a quality viewing experience when the Wildcats are not in Abilene."
"We hope fans will enjoy the various content we will be adding to the network," Mosley said. "Programming such as the Wildcat Coaches Show each Monday night, athletic contests, special feature on ACU student-athletes and coaches as well as other exciting insights into Wildcat athletics."
